FW 190 D9

Scale 1/32, model is Hasegawa build by Pierre.

Hasegawa's 190 D-9,1/32 scale W Nr 210194 Werner Hohenburg 4/Jg2 maybe downed by German Flak(?) returning from Operation Bodenplatte on the first January of 1945.I've seen six different versions of the painting of this aircraft in several publications, including one with a blown hood,so I was feeling free! I used the flat hood, and the nice MDC cockpit installation. For the cowl,I retained the Eagle Parts pieces, with the gun cover,(early five pieces) less bumped than the original one, main cowl and cowl ring,it gives a quite different profile.Tail wheel and fork are from the MDC range.I made the missing rivet lines with the new MDC rivet maker, rather long job,but worth while,I think. The fuselage band, crosses and svastika were painted, chevrons and bars made from decals.I used the Gunze acrilyc colors for the painting except the Brown shade (RLM81)that I didn't like,it seemed too greenish for me.So,I used Acrilyc Aircraft Colors (they are made in Spain,so I think they are simply Vallejo);you have to thin these colors with distilated water, well, didn't like them too much, but appreciated the shade.A very pleasant kit,Hasegawa has found what a lot of us really wanted.
