Scale 1/32nd, from Trumpeter; build by me....

OK, so i'll start the big beast, it's a huge box...too difficult for sitting a long time on my shelves ! I bought the resin cockpit from Black Box for it, but was very disapointed by the fitting of this piece. In first, the seat is sitting too low and surely undersized, it has to be sitting upper in the cockpit. In second, the HUD is also too low, normally in this kind of plane the HUD is close to touch the top of the windscreen.....not here ! The last thing....you have to erase the top of the front wheel well and the bottom of the resin cockpit....so you can close the fuselage !!.So i cut the border of the instruments panel, so it could sit a little upper, not perfect but it fit enough. The other problem of the kit was the canopy, the front has to be flat....and its shape has to be different. I decided to cut it and rebuild it, after a lot of sanding and "puttying".....i was close enough of the real shape ! So i give the master at Serge SAENEN, our model club friend; for vacuformed it ! We'll see next time what's the result !. Painting the details on the cockpit was great and gives a good result with a minimum of patience. but the next stage was not so easy, closing the fuselage seemed to be difficult, you can take a look at the picture showing the nose cone, the wings comes pretty bad too....instant glue and putty are a good deal for this one ! I'm now waiting that all is drying.....
